Ice tubig
''Not to be confused with Ice water'' "Tubig" is the Filipino word for water. Ice Tubig or Iced water is a type of Filipino beverage where water contained in a tube plastic bag (500ml or in some cases, more) is served in near-freezing temperature to generate a brain-freeze sensation. The beverage however, does not contain ice, and is named only to express how cold it is. The product is popular to street bystanders, tricycle drivers, jeepney drivers or any pedestrian combating a hot day outdoors. Ice Tubig is drunk by biting off the tip of the plastic bag and then sucking the water out of it. Ice Tubig was a staple part of Filipino culture, decades before the PET bottled water was introduced to the local market. It can be said that Filipinos pioneered plastic-contained water products. Ice Tubig is not to be confused with ice water from Alaska and the polar regions.
